Eating oranges today, I made the peel into sugar, the finished orange candy does not have a little bitter taste, but tastes like fruit gummies, especially chewy, is a very good snack, I will share it with you below
Orange peel candy
Ingredients: orange peel, rock sugar, sugar, honey, salt, water
Operation steps: 1. We prepare four fresh oranges, wash them with water and dry the water on the skin, then carefully scrub the wax off the skin of the oranges with a little salt, and wash them with water again.
2. Use a knife to cut the oranges into 6 small evenly slices.
3. Press one hand to one side, use a knife to slice the pulp down, put the slice of pulp into a small bowl and eat it with chopsticks, neither dirty hands nor waste.
4. Use a knife to scrape off the white flesh on the orange peel, and try to remove it cleanly, otherwise it will be very bitter with the white pulp.
5. This is what it looks like after cutting.
6. Bring half a pot of water to a boil, add the orange zest after the water boils, and cook over high heat for 10 minutes.
7. Then take it out and put it in cold water, soak it for 10 minutes, and rinse it twice with water, this is to further remove the bitter taste of the orange peel, so be sure not to omit.
8. After 10 minutes, remove the orange peel from the water, drain and set aside.
9. Put an appropriate amount of water and rock sugar in the pot, turn to medium heat to boil the rock sugar and melt it after boiling over high heat, then pour in an appropriate amount of white sugar, without stirring, and cook until it melts.
10. Then pour in the drained orange peel, stir constantly with a spoon, cook for 10 minutes, and then remove the orange peel.
11. Add an appropriate amount of honey to the remaining sugar water in the pot, stir constantly with a spoon, and boil over high heat until the soup is viscous.
12. Pour the orange peel back into the pot, boil on high heat for two minutes, then turn off the heat and let the orange peel soak in the soup for an hour.
13. After an hour, take out the marinated orange peel from the pot, spread it flat on the baking net, and put a baking tray on the oil paper underneath, otherwise the dripping soup will be too sticky and not easy to clean.
Turn on the hot air, measure the oven to 60 degrees, bake for 1 hour, turn over and bake for another 1 hour. Bake until the surface doesn't feel too sticky to the touch.
14. The baked orange peel is wrapped in a layer of white sugar, which can be eaten as a snack.
