 Desiccated coconut rolls

Ingredients to prepare

The indispensable coconut flower roll is desiccated coconut, which is not sold in our supermarket, so I bought it online. In order to increase the milky flavor of the flower rolls, I use milk and noodles here, and you can also use milk powder and warm water to add 300 grams of noodles!

Crust: 500 grams of flour, 5 grams of sugar, 310 ml of warm milk, 5 grams of yeast.

Filling: 40 grams of butter, 60 grams of sugar, 100 grams of desiccated coconut, 3 eggs.                                        

 

Preparation of desiccated coconut rolls

【Kneading】

Add flour, sugar and yeast to a bowl, mix warm milk and form a smooth dough, cover with plastic wrap, and send to the refrigerator to ferment overnight.

If you eat breakfast, it is recommended to make this step one night in advance, and refrigerated fermentation for one night can also make the dough softer! And it also saves time in the morning, killing two birds with one stone.                                                             


【Filling】

3 eggs separate yolk and egg white, we use only egg yolk. Melt the butter and set aside, butter is mainly used to increase the adhesion of the filling, if there is no butter, you can use cooked vegetable oil instead.

Add desiccated coconut, sugar, egg yolk and butter to the bowl and stir well, because the coconut is added, the stirred filling is a little loose.



【Production】

Proofed dough doesn't need to be kneaded! Roll out the rectangular cake directly with a rolling pin and spread the coconut filling on the dough.

Tip: Gently press when applying to make the filling and dough stick together.



Fold the filled crust, fold the top and bottom sides to the middle, and fold it in half again!



Cut it into 3 cm wide pieces with a knife, and make 1 flower roll for 2 dough pieces. Stack two pieces of dough on top of each other, press them firmly with a chopstick, and then gently pinch the ends with your hands to bend them to create a beautiful flower roll shape!



【Steaming】

Steam the pot with cold water for 10 minutes, and simmer for another 3 minutes to prevent collapse and retraction!

Set a 15-minute alarm clock while steaming, and then you can go wash up or something! Not counting the time for steaming the flower rolls, I was able to get it in 10 minutes.
