How to make steamed taro with chopped peppers

Ingredients: 400 grams of taro, 50 grams of red pepper.

Ingredients: 2 grams of chives, 1/3 tablespoon of light soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of chicken essence, 2 teaspoons of sesame oil, a pinch of salt.

The first step, the taro skin is attached to some mud bumps and hairs, it is very inconvenient to peel it, we first put the taro in clean water and soak it for 3 to 5 minutes, the soil will fall by itself, and then wash and peel the taro, directly cut into taro pieces, the size depends on personal preference.

The second step, wash and plane the red peppers, remove the pepper seeds, cut the peppers into minced pieces and put them in a bowl, add light soy sauce, chicken essence, sesame oil, and a little salt and stir evenly to make a chopped pepper sauce.

The third step, add an appropriate amount of water to the steamer, boil over high heat, put the taro pieces into a deep dish, put the pot with a lid, and steam for 15 to 20 minutes on high heat.

The fourth step is to steam the taro pieces until they are 8 mature, that is, when they can be pierced with chopsticks, but they cannot be completely pierced, pour the finished sauce evenly on the taro pieces, cover and continue to steam the taro over high heat until they are fully cooked.

The fifth step is to wash the chives and cut them into chopped green onions, turn off the heat after steaming the taro, remove the lid, and sprinkle the chopped green onions on a plate, and the steamed dish is ready.

Tips:

For some friends who are prone to skin allergies, it is best to wear a pair of plastic gloves on their hands when handling taro to prevent direct contact with taro mucus and cause itching.

Don't choose canned pickled peppers for the sake of saving trouble, the pickled peppers are spicy and sour, which will make the taro taste sour and spicy, not suitable for making this dish, in contrast, red peppers also have a spicy taste, but it is very light, and the spicy taste will disappear after steaming, which will not affect the freshness of the dish.
