Be careful with this thing on your legs!

As the saying goes: people get old before their legs, and many people think that it is normal for their legs to be inflexible when they are old! But there is a very common disease called leg terrier!

I've heard of cerebral infarction and myocardial infarction, but I've never heard of a leg infarction!

Yes, that's right, you heard it right!
The blood vessels of the lower limbs can also be blocked, resulting in arterial ischemia of the lower limbs, and in severe cases, limb necrosis, which is called "leg infarction".
The professional term for "leg infarction" is "lower limb arteriosclerosis occlusion", which is the same principle as cerebral infarction and myocardial infarction, which is the symptoms and signs caused by blocked blood vessels.
In fact, the incidence and degree of harm of leg infarction are no less than "myocardial infarction" and "cerebral infarction". If myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction are not treated in time, in most cases, they are directly fatal; And if the leg stalk is not dealt with in time, it is "to the leg", and if it is left alone, it will be "fatal".
To put it bluntly, the blood vessels on the legs are blocked.
There are four different stages of "leg terrier".

1. No obvious symptom period:
just cold and numb legs and feet, feeling uncomfortable.
2. Intermittent claudication period:
muscle
pain, cramps, fatigue and weakness occur after walking for a certain distance, and the symptoms can be completely relieved, and the symptoms appear again after walking again.

3. Resting pain period:

Even if you don't exercise or walk, you still have pain in your lower limbs, especially when you fall asleep at night. At this stage, it must be treated aggressively and quickly, otherwise it will enter the gangrene phase.

4. Gangrene stage:

In the end, cyanosis (that is, purple ecchymosis), ulcers, and gangrene appear on the foot plate, and the leg and toe will be amputated at this time.

A good person is going to become disabled. Therefore, the "leg terrier" cannot be ignored!!

Blockage of blood vessels in the lower limbs is easy to disguise as 2 diseases:

1. Old cold legs

The so-called "old cold legs" are medically called "knee osteoarthritis". The arteriosclerosis occlusive disease of the lower limbs has similar symptoms to the old cold legs.

2. Lumbar disc herniation

Lumbar disc herniation can also cause symptoms such as lower limb pain and intermittent claudication.

However, in terms of symptoms, pain as soon as you walk may be lumbar spondylosis, and pain that begins after walking for a while may be arteriosclerosis of the lower limbs.

Who is prone to "leg terriers"?
Factors related to the onset of "lower extremity arteriosclerosis occlusive disease" include hypertension, diabetes, smoking, obesity, etc.

Therefore, the middle-aged and elderly people with high blood lipids, high blood sugar, high uric acid, high body weight, high blood pressure, high blood viscosity, high age, high mental pressure, high smoking addiction and little exercise are the high-risk factors for arteriosclerosis occlusive disease, and the disease mostly occurs in patients over 50 years old.

After the age of about 30, the arteries begin to have lipid deposits, and after middle age, you should pay attention to the atherosclerosis of your arteries and blood vessels, and regularly go to the hospital every year to check the arteries and blood vessels.

For leg stalks, you can conduct a self-examination at home, that is, "take a look, touch it, and walk it".

glance

It is to see the color of the feet, whether they have turned white or purple;

Touch it

It is to touch the temperature of the foot, whether it is cool or not, whether the dorsalis pedis artery exists or not, whether it is weakened or not, and compare the two sides;

Take a walk

It is to walk at a normal walking speed for a while and feel if there is any discomfort such as soreness in the calves or lower limbs.

If there is a change in the color and temperature of the foot, the dorsalis pedis artery is weakened or disappears, and there are symptoms such as soreness and discomfort in the lower limbs after walking, you should pay attention to it and be sure to go to the regular peripheral vascular department of the hospital.

Don't do these movements

1. Don't walk the cobblestone road

Because patients with foot infarction have problems with blood vessels in their legs, their feet have low perception, and they are not sensitive to pain, walking on cobblestone roads is likely to cause infection and aggravate the degree of leg necrosis.

2. Don't exercise vigorously

For example, square dancing, which many aunts and mothers are very fond of, and the morning jog that grandparents will do every morning, are not suitable as exercises for foot infarction patients.

For patients with foot infarction, it is more suitable for gentler exercises, such as: slow walking, tai chi, Baduanjin, etc.

3. Don't soak your feet in hot water

"Leg stalk", do not soak your feet in hot water, because local heating may lead to increased oxygen consumption of the limbs, but aggravate the condition. The correct way is to wrap your cold feet with thick socks and seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Proper prevention of leg infarction

1. The diet should be based on light vegetarian food, reduce salt intake, eat less greasy, sugary, and high-calorie foods, and drink more water.
2. Quit smoking. This is one of the most important measures to prevent hardening of the arteries.

3. Control blood pressure, high blood pressure has great damage to blood vessels, and high blood pressure lasting for 10 years will cause many complications.

4. Insist on physical exercise, make a corresponding walking plan, and exercise twice a week even if you are busy with work.
5. When cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are found, the blood vessels of the lower limbs should be examined, because most of the above diseases are accompanied.
6. Take good care of your feet, keep warm, and avoid trauma and infection.
