What is Moisture?

There are two kinds of dampness in traditional Chinese medicine, one is the dampness evil in nature, such as rainy climate and long-term humidity (external dampness); The other is that the body's qi runs too slowly and too slowly, forming dampness (internal dampness) caused by stagnation.

What happens when moisture is heavy?

01 Joint stiffness

If the moisture in a person's body is too heavy, it will cause the dampness to enter the joints, and the cold will remain in the body, which will cause the cold and dampness to meet in the joints to form dampness and cold, and damage the health of the joints.

For a long time, the limbs will become stiff, and in severe cases, it will affect normal activities.
02Thick stools

It is difficult for damp human feces to form, and it can stick to the toilet, so it is very difficult to flush it with water.

Most of these symptoms are caused by unhealthy eating habits, and eating spicy and stimulating foods often will cause cold to invade the body and cause stool adhesions.

03 The tongue coating is thick and the breath is heavy

If you wake up in the morning and feel that your mouth is sticky, your tongue is thick, and the odor in your mouth does not improve well even by brushing your teeth, it is likely that these conditions are caused by heavy moisture.

How do you force out moisture?
01Find the moisture drain of the body

Weizhong acupoint: Located at the center point of the leg socket, it is the bladder meridian.

The bladder meridian is the largest detoxification and dampness channel in the human body, and the Weizhong acupoint is the sewage outlet on this channel, if it is not smooth here, the moisture cannot be discharged, which may lead to the occurrence of arthritis, low back pain and other diseases.

Therefore, you can usually rub this acupuncture point, and each time you pluck or tap no less than 49 times.

Quchi acupoint: Located at the lateral end of the elbow striae, the elbow is flexed, and when the ruler point points are connected to the lateral epicondyle of the humerus, the damp qi of the large intestine meridian gathers here.

In modern times, it is often used to treat shoulder and elbow pain (or frozen shoulder), high blood pressure, urticaria, influenza, tonsillitis, etc. You can pat the position of the elbow fossa for about 5 minutes continuously to feel soreness.
02Drink barley and red bean porridge

Barley, called "Coix Seed" in traditional Chinese medicine, is listed as the top grade in the "Shennong Materia Medica". It can cure dampness, benefit the stomach and intestines, eliminate edema, strengthen the spleen and stomach, and benefit the body and qi for a long time.

Red adzuki beans can nourish the heart and blood, and it is recorded in ancient books that it "makes people thin for a long time", that is, eating red adzuki beans often also has the effect of weight loss. It also has obvious effects of diluting water, reducing swelling, and strengthening the spleen and stomach.

These two herbs can play a role in nourishing blood and dispelling dampness. Not only that, barley and red bean porridge also has a good weight loss effect, which can not only lose weight, but also do not hurt the body.
03 Eat less raw and cold

In such a humid environment, do not eat food that hurts the spleen and stomach. People with a sweet tooth also need to pay attention, because "sweet and greasy dissolves dampness".

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that raw and cold food, ice products or cold fruits and vegetables will stagnate the digestion and absorption function of the stomach and intestines, so it is not suitable to eat unlimited amounts. For example, lettuce salad, watermelon, Chinese cabbage, bitter gourd, etc., it is best to add green onions and ginger when cooking to reduce the cold nature of vegetables.
