When we go to the hospital to see a doctor, the doctor often asks us to stick out our tongue, which is an important indicator of TCM consultation, and if there is a lesion in the internal organs, it can also be reflected on the tongue very intuitively. The tongue is a living physical examination report that a child carries with him, learn a little tongue diagnosis, do not ask for a minor illness, once a major disease lesion appears, the first time can be self-examined and found, timely medical treatment, can avoid causing trouble.
The tongue corresponds to the five internal organs
In fact, the five viscera have reflex areas on the tongue, the tip of the tongue is to reflect the information of cardiopulmonary diseases, the middle of the tongue is to reflect the information of spleen and stomach diseases, the two sides of the tongue are to reflect the information of hepatobiliary diseases, and the root of the tongue generally refers to the lower coke of the bladder and kidneys.
There are two indicators of a normal tongue, one is the color of the tongue, and the other is the thickness and size of the tongue.
The normal tongue color must be good-looking, generally pale red to light pink. If it is too light or whitish, it means that there is cold or lack of qi and blood; If it is red or crimson, it means that the body is hot; If it is dark purple, it means that there is blood stasis.
A normal tongue should be of moderate thickness and size.
If the tongue is too fat, it indicates that the spleen is deficient;
Tooth marks are a strengthened version of spleen deficiency - spleen dampness;
If the tongue is too thin, it means that the qi is depressed;
If it is thin and thin, it means that there is a lack of qi and blood;
If there are spots or petechiae on the tongue, it is blood stasis;
If the papillae of the tongue are significantly enlarged, red and swollen, it means that there is a fever syndrome; If there is a crack in the middle of the tongue, it means that the spleen and stomach qi are insufficient.
Look at the tongue coating
Tongue diagnosis is an important basis for doctors to diagnose diseases, observe conditions, decide treatment, and evaluate prognosis.
In addition to being seen in normal people without disease, white moss is more common in mild diseases, early stages of illness and recovery from disease. Early disease or local lesions, local lesions that do not affect the whole body, such as adolescent goiter, trauma, athlete's foot, plum nuclear gas, early breast cancer, cervical cancer, etc.
From the perspective of pathology, yellow moss is mostly related to inflammatory infections: acute infectious diseases of various departments, such as encephalitis, Japanese encephalitis, leptospirosis, typhoid, diphtheria and bacillary dysentery, as well as severe pneumonia, severe hepatitis, intestinal infection, acute pyelonephritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, sepsis caused by staphylococcus and streptococcus, acute pancreatitis, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, ruptured ectopic pregnancy, middle or late stage of acute perforation of ulcer disease, peritonitis, acute cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, biliary ascariasis and urinary tract stones combined with infection, etc. Yellow moss can be present.
If you have a cold and fever, you may have dry mouth, sore throat, cough and yellow phlegm, which is called wind-heat cold in traditional Chinese medicine. Yellow moss appeared in 2 days in the shortest fever, so fever is also closely related to yellow moss. During the treatment, cooling medicine should be the main thing, and avoid stimulating spicy food and tonics, so as not to add fuel to the fire.
It is mainly caused by the proliferation and darkening of the filiform papillae of the tongue. The color of black moss can vary from brown-black, gray-black, burnt black, to pitch black. If this moss appears, the disease period must be long, and the disease is more complex and serious.
In the patients with black lichen, half of the cases are caused by various inflammatory infections, including pneumonia, pyelonephritis, etc., central nervous system dysfunction can also cause black lichen, some critically ill patients: chronic disease visceral failure, such as cirrhosis of the liver, severe damage to liver function, chronic renal failure, uremia, various advanced cancers appear black lichen in turn, which is the manifestation of the disease to the extreme.
Of course, black moss does not necessarily mean that people who are seriously ill, and people who do not pay attention to oral hygiene and do not brush their teeth often will contribute to the growth of mold and the excessive length of the stratum corneum of the tongue papilla, forming black moss. In people who smoke regularly, chemicals in smoke or tobacco can irritate the nipples on the tongue and can also induce black lichen. Frequent consumption of traditional Chinese medicine will also lead to black moss, which is the precipitation and staining of the drug, and it will get better after stopping the drug.
If the tongue coating turns from white to yellow, it means that the disease has changed from the surface to the inside, the disease has changed from mild to severe, and the nature has changed from cold to hot. On the contrary, it is a good sign that the tongue coating changes from yellow to white.
In addition to looking at the color of the tongue coating, we can also judge the health status of the body by the shape and size of the tongue coating.
Tooth marks and tongue appear in people with spleen deficiency and qi deficiency, and it is also common in people with uncomfortable liver qi, especially women, who often have symptoms such as "head swelling and pain", "throat blockage", "poor sleep", "love to sulk", "love to lose temper", which is a manifestation of uncomfortable liver qi.
If there is a tooth mark tongue, try not to eat raw and cold melons and fruits and cold drinks, because it will damage the spleen and yang, resulting in heavier dampness, you can also make rose tea and drink, three flowers at a time.
"Guide to Distinguishing the Tongue: The Essence of Distinguishing the Tongue" believes that the tongue of ordinary people has no lines, and the lines are blood decay, and the depth of the cracks reflects the blood decay.
The cracks in the middle of the tongue are very obvious (everyone has cracks in the middle of the tongue, and the cracks in normal people are not obvious), and even many forks are divided into various cracks, indicating that your spleen and stomach function is poor, the spleen and stomach qi are insufficient, and you are unable to raise the tongue coating to fill the middle groove of the tongue, so there will be more obvious cracks.
A crooked tongue is most likely a precursor to a stroke. Tilted to the left, biased towards blood stasis, and tilted to the right, biased towards qi stagnation.
Middle-aged and elderly people, especially obese parents, such as numbness at the base of the tongue and numbness in the index and middle fingers, are mostly precursors of stroke and are caused by cerebral ischemia. If this happens, be sure to go to the hospital as soon as possible.
In menopausal women, if there are more blood spots on both sides of the tongue and irritability, this is caused by endocrine metabolism disorders and pigmentation. At this time, you can take some traditional Chinese medicine that soothes the liver and regulates qi, such as Shugan pills, Xiaoyao pills, etc., which can achieve curative effects quickly.
There are two veins under the tongue that flow quietly, and normally these two veins are faintly visible or not visible at all. However, when the body is stagnant, the circulation of qi and blood is not smooth, and the tendons will burst under the tongue, so it is necessary to prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
People with weak righteous qi and people with a deficiency of yin and jin and internal movement of liver wind will tremble in their tongues. Normal people's tongues are very flexible, and some people have a hard time sticking out their tongues, and they have to stretch them slowly and hard, indicating that the righteous qi has been seriously injured or even seriously ill.
