Chapped lips are not due to lack of water, the root of the disease is here!
Dry lips are dry all year round, especially in autumn and winter, and as long as the lips open and close too much or laugh loudly when speaking, it can cause the lips to crack and bleed. Over the years, I have used everything every day to drink water, apply lip masks, and apply lip balm, but my lips are still the same, so I asked what to do? In fact, this situation is no longer explained by simple dryness, in traditional Chinese medicine, this is called "lip wind". 1. What is "lip wind"? Lip wind, also known as "donkey mouth wind", is mainly manifested as dry lips, chapped, longitudinal grooves or fissures, desquamation, bleeding, pain and other symptoms that cannot be cured for a long time, and sometimes accompanied by fungal infection, forming a pseudofilm and not easy to peel off, manifested as redness, swelling, erosion and other symptoms. Lip wind is more common on the lower lip and tends to occur in autumn and winter. Western medicine refers to lip wind as desquamative cheilitis, and believes that its causes may be related to infection, sun exposure, tobacco and alcohol, cosmetic irritation, nutritional deficiencies, genetic factors, mental stimulation and mood changes. At present, there is no effective treatment method in Western medicine, and the lips can generally be treated with sesame oil and ointment, and antifungal ointment can be applied to treat fungal infection. 2. The three common pathogenesis of "lip wind"are recorded in the "Yellow Emperor's Neijing": "The temper is open in the mouth, and its glory is in the lips". This is also what Chinese medicine calls "the spleen opens to the mouth", that is, the lips are closely related to the spleen and stomach, and various abnormal symptoms of the lips indicate the imbalance of spleen and stomach function. Generally speaking, lip wind has the following three common pathogenesis:1.
Wind and fire, dampness and heat, and the foreign invasion of the lips and mouthof the Qing Dynasty "Yizong Jinjian • Volume 65 • Lip Wind" says: "Lip wind is mostly born in the lower lip, and the Yangming stomach is attacked by wind and fire, and it is itchy and red and swollen at the beginning, and it is painful to crack the water and fire for a long time." "Zu Yang Ming's stomach is surrounded by lips. If the stomach meridian is hot, and it is invaded by wind evil, so that the wind and fire fight, it will follow the meridian and end up on the lips. If it is stimulated by external evils such as wind evil, it will fight with wind and heat, and cause the spleen and stomach to be steamed by the evil of dampness and heat in the meridians, and it will end in the lips. 2. Yin deficiency and blood dryness, lip and mouth dystrophy,
"Surgical Syndrome and Treatment Encyclopedia" records: "The lip wind gives birth to the lower lip, the initial itching and redness and swelling, the long-term rupture and flowing water, the pain is like a fire, like no skin, the spleen is also dry and heavy by the wind, cold and damp qi beats on the sores, then it is slightly swollen and wet, or cold or hot, it is cured at first, and accumulates over the years." It can be seen that if the internal organs are hot and contained, the fluid will be consumed over time, so that the stomach yin is insufficient, and the lips will be unnourished. This is what we often call "body thirst", when the body is thirsty, not only the skin will be dry and itchy, but also the lips. In this case, in addition to cracked and itchy lips, it will also be accompanied by symptoms such as dry stool, short and red urine, red tongue, and hot body.
3.
Biochemical insufficiency, lip and mouth dystrophyis best understood, the spleen and stomach are the foundation of the day after tomorrow, if the spleen and stomach are weak, the transport is derelict in their duties, and can not biochemical qi and blood, and reach the lips and mouth, the lips and mouth will be nourished. Modern people's gluttony of cold often leads to damage to the spleen yang, and the spleen yang is responsible for transporting water valleys, and the lack of spleen yang will affect the subtle biochemistry of water valleys into qi and blood. People with weak spleen and stomach, in addition to lip and mouth dystrophy, also common symptoms such as abdominal distension, unfavorable urination, and swollen limbs, and women will also have thin and many vaginal discharge. 3. How to take acupoints, starting from two ideas,
1meridian passes, the main treatment andthe "Yellow Emperor's Neijing Lingshu Meridian" describes the stomach meridian as follows: "The veins of the stomach and feet are Yangming, starting from the intersection of the nose (pronounced as è, meaning the bridge of the nose, the root of the nose, and the center of the eyebrows), and the veins of the sun are placed next to the outside of the nose, into the upper teeth, and also out of the clamp mouth, and the lips"To
put it bluntly, the stomach meridian passes through the lips....... According to the principle of "where the meridians pass, where the main treatment goes", we should first find acupuncture points on the stomach meridian! First of all, we must know that the reason why the lips are dry, itchy, cracked and molting is, in most cases, related to the heat of the stomach meridian, so we should first moxibustion the Xing acupoint of the stomach meridian - the inner courtyard acupoint, because "the main body of the Xing is hot". At the same time, because the spleen and stomach are on the surface, the spleen is open to the mouth, so the lip problem is also related to the heat of the spleen meridian. Secondly, for the problem of dry lips, it is recommended to moxibustion the Dicang acupoint at the corner of the mouth to directly replenish the blood to the lips. 2.
Corresponding moxibustionIf these 3 acupuncture points are not significantly improved after moxibustion, further moxibustion is required. 01. Wind and fire are damp and hot, and itis recommended to moxibustion Quchi acupoint for the damp and hot situation. Quchi acupoint belongs to the large intestine meridian of Hand Yang Ming, located at the elbow, is the main pass of meridian qi operation, can pass up to the bottom, through the table, can clear the wind and heat outside, and can pour out the fire evil inside, it is the key point of the double clear inside the surface, with the function of evacuating wind and heat, dissolving the surface and dispersing evil, and good at solving the whole body wind and heat surface evil. At the same time, Quchi acupoint, as the acupoint of the large intestine meridian of Hand Yangming, has the attributes of the five elements of soil, "governing the internal organs", so it can clear the Yangming and clear the dampness and heat. The large intestine meridian and the lung meridian are on the surface, so this acupoint has the functions of clearing heat and detoxifying, cooling blood and dispelling wind, reducing swelling and relieving pain, and can eliminate various skin diseases on the surface of the skin and detoxify the skin surface. 02. Yin deficiency and blood dryness, lip and mouth loss of nourishmentIn the acupuncture points for yin deficiency and blood dryness, the first recommendation is the Rangu acupoint, which can be called the "big yin tonifying pill" that specializes in treating yin deficiency and blood dryness. Yin deficiency and blood dryness are mostly caused by fire, but the Gu acupoint is the Xing point of the kidney meridian, which belongs to fire, and the kidney meridian belongs to water, so its effect of nourishing yin and dissipating heat can just balance water and fire, especially suitable for yin deficiency and blood dryness caused by fire. Moreover, many traditional Chinese medicine practitioners also believe that Rangu acupoint, as the body's own medicine, has a better effect of nourishing yin and replenishing yin than the great yin tonifying pill. People with yin deficiency and blood dryness are often accompanied by symptoms such as upset, insomnia, and dry mouth, and moxibustion can increase the secretion of saliva, make you less dry, and stabilize your irritable mood, so that you can sleep soundly. 03. Insufficient biochemistry, lip and mouth dystrophyAs mentioned above, insufficient biochemistry indicates that the spleen and stomach are weak, especially the spleen and yang deficiency is the most common. For spleen and yang deficiency, there are many acupuncture points to choose from, such as the middle belly, such as Shenque, Guan Yuan, Qi Hai and other middle and lower Jiao acupoints, but Zusanli is especially recommended here. Zusanli is the gastric meridian acupoint, moxibustion Zusanli can nourish the spleen and stomach, strengthen Peiyuan, reconcile qi and blood, not only can be applied to the lip and mouth dystrophy, but also can be applied to the spleen and yang deficiency and stomach meridian qi and blood disharmony caused by the complexion, yellowing of the skin, wrinkles and other symptoms that affect the appearance. The above acupuncture points can be moxibusted for 20 minutes each time.
