Dysmenorrhea refers to severe pain in the lower abdomen, backache and even nausea and vomiting before and after menstruation or during menstruation. Dysmenorrhea can be divided into primary and secondary, and those who fail to find obvious abnormalities in the pelvic organs after detailed gynecological clinical examination are primary dysmenorrhea, otherwise they are secondary dysmenorrhea. Massage therapy for dysmenorrhea can be started 5 to 7 days before menstruation, stop after menstruation, and then apply manual therapy before the next menstrual cramp. The purpose of massage is to drain blood downward, so it should be performed when there is pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region before menstruation.

How to take the acupoints

Jizhong acupoint: The Jizhong acupoint is located between the two nipples, on the midline of the sternum, and in the flat fourth intercostal space.

Guan Yuan acupoint: Guan Yuan acupoint is located in the abdomen, in the middle line of the front of the body, and 3 inches below the umbilicus. That is, three inches below the middle of the navel of the human body (four fingers together, from the middle of the navel, with the horizontal stripe of the middle finger as the standard, the horizontal distance), the midline of the abdomen.

Qihai Point: Qihai Point is located in the lower abdomen of the human body, in the midline of the front of the body, 1 and a half inches below the umbilicus, and two fingers wide below the navel. A straight line connects the navel to the top of the pubic bone, dividing it into ten equal parts, and from the position of 3/10 of the navel, it is the Qi Sea Acupoint. The Qi Sea Cave is also known as the dantian, and there is a saying that the qi sinks into the dantian.

Great Giant Hole: The Great Giant Cave is located in the lower abdomen, 2 inches below the middle of the umbilicus, and 2 inches from the anterior midline. (That is: 2 inches next to the stone gate hole, 2 inches below the pivot on the same day.) )

Diaphragm Yu acupoint: Diaphragm Yu acupoint is located on the back of the human body, when the spinous process of the seventh thoracic vertebra is under the spinous process, the left and right sides are two finger widths. (If you turn your back to your hand, you can feel the depression between the shoulder blades and the vertebrae, and this is the place, and there is one on the left and one on the left.)

Eight acupoints: The eight acupoints are not an acupuncture point, it is a group of acupuncture points, so they are collectively called: Eight acupoints, there are eight points, four on the left and four on the right, which are divided into the upper acupoint, the secondary acupoint, the middle acupoint, and the lower acupoint, which is exactly in the part of our lumbosacral acupoint.

Massage techniques

1. Sit upright, press and knead the middle acupoint with the thumb and fingertips of one hand, first clockwise and then counterclockwise respectively for 20 circles, until the local soreness is appropriate.

2. Standing or lying on your back, rub the Guan Yuan acupoint of the lower abdomen with the palm of your hand, from light to heavy, from slow to fast, from small to large, until the local feeling is warm.

3. Standing or lying on your back, place the palm of one hand on the Qihai acupoint, and then shake the Qihai acupoint with the palm, the strength should not be too large, and it is advisable to produce local swelling pain.

4. Stand naturally, put the index finger and middle finger of one hand together, slowly rub the big giant point, and use a little heavier force until the local feeling is sore.

5. Stand naturally, rub the eight acupoints of the lumbosacral region with the palms of both hands at the same time, and then use the thumbs of both hands to tap the eight acupoints until the local feeling is warm.

6. Sit upright, rub the Sanyin Jiao acupoint with the thumb and fingertips, use a little heavier force, until the local soreness is appropriate, and massage the left and right legs alternately.
