What are the telltale signs of them?
Deficiency refers to the deficiency of righteous qi in the human body, resulting in a weakening of disease resistance and a decrease in physiological functions. It is manifested as white face and pale lips, fatigue, palpitations, shortness of breath, spontaneous sweats, loose stools, frequent urination, tender tongue, weak pulse and other symptoms.
Yin deficiency and fever, yang deficiency and fear of cold, blood deficiency and dryness, qi deficiency and weakness.
1. Yin deficiency - avoid dryness, wolfberry and pear
Symptoms: hot flashes and sweating of the hands and feet, irritation, sores on the mouth and tongue
2. Yang deficiency - avoid raw and cold (shrimp and crab) and mutton
Symptoms: chills, diarrhoea, fatigue, lack of energy
3. Qi deficiency - yam, poria cocos, barley.
Symptoms: Weakness in the limbs, drowsiness easily, loss of appetite
4. Blood deficiency - avoid dryness, red beans, red peanuts, red dates, complexion, palpitation, menstrual irregularities, cherries - both nourish qi and blood
Qi deficiency refers to general weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath, low voice, or even lazy speech, and sweating a lot on weekdays. In clinical practice, this disease can be seen with different parts of the viscera where the disease appears:
People with lung qi deficiency: the symptoms are low cough voice, weak sputum cough, and easy to catch a cold.
People with heart qi deficiency: symptoms are paleness, forgetfulness, heart burning, etc.
Kidney Qi deficiency: sperm loss, nocturia.
People with spleen qi deficiency: stomach is full and uncomfortable after meals, loose and unformed stools, poor digestive function, and small amount of food. Yin deficiency is often manifested as emaciation, dry mouth, nose, and throat, and fever in the afternoon or in the palms and feet. Specifically, it is divided into: lung yin deficiency: dry cough, little and sticky phlegm, or blood in the sputum, hoarseness, sweating in the state of sleep, and sweating after waking up (commonly known as night sweats).
Spleen and yin deficiency: do not want to eat, not easy to digest after eating, dry nausea, dry mouth, thirst, dry stool, emaciation.
Kidney yin deficiency: waist sleepiness and weak legs, heel pain, hot hands and feet or both upset, insomnia, night sweats, sperm loss, hair loss, and tooth shaking. Liver yin deficiency: dizziness, headache, dry eyes, fear of light, dizziness or night blindness, insomnia and dreams, poor nail gloss.
It is worth mentioning that liver and kidney yin deficiency often occur at the same time, liver yin deficiency can go to kidney yin deficiency, and kidney yin deficiency can often lead to liver and kidney deficiency.
Yang deficiency is often afraid of cold, the limbs, especially the hands and feet, are cold and cold, the mouth is tasteless, not thirsty, the urine is pale and heavy, especially the nocturia is more, the whole body is weak, and it is easy to be tired. Yang deficiency symptoms are mild in summer and aggravated in winter, and often progress from qi deficiency to yang deficiency.
Spleen and Yang Deficiency: loss of appetite, stomach like warmth, comfortable stomach after pressing, tasteless mouth, like hot drinks, loose stools or containing indigestible food, accompanied by edema, pale complexion, female leucorrhea is thin and abundant, and even stomach pain, temperature pain is reduced, and cold is aggravated.
Kidney Yang Deficiency: soreness and chills in the waist and knees, sensitivity to cold in the limbs, clear and long urine or enuresis, edema (more common below the waist), impotence and spermatozoa, women present with infertility or pain around the umbilicus before dawn, diarrhea with bowel sounds, and pain reduction and disappearance after diarrhea.
Heart-Yang deficiency: palpitation, chest tightness, shortness of breath in the chest, emptiness in the heart, easy to be frightened, panic in the heart after shock, and even pain in the precordial area.
Blood deficiency syndrome has a yellow or pale complexion, pale lips, dizziness, insomnia, decreased menstrual flow in women, prolonged cycles, and even amenorrhea, dull skin, dizziness often occurs or worsens after exertion, pale nails, mild headache, aggravated after exertion, and often has symptoms of qi deficiency, such as lazy speech, fatigue and weakness, and excessive sweating.
Heart and blood deficiency: palpitation, upset, insomnia, dreaminess, forgetfulness, pale complexion, pale lips and tongue, mostly occurs in people with weak constitution.
Liver and blood deficiency: dizzy and dry eyes when looking at things, dull nails, light color, brittle and thin, and even deformed, night blindness, blurred vision, tinnitus, numbness of hands, feet and limbs, emaciation, low menstrual flow in women, light color, and even amenorrhea, insomnia and dreams, easy to wake up.
These are just some of the symptoms of common deficiency disorders. TCM believes that qi, blood, yin, and yang can be transformed into each other, or appear at the same time, that is, many symptoms can be seen not only in one symptom, but also in many symptoms, and need to be considered together with other symptoms, so patients must seek an experienced TCM diagnosis when it is difficult to distinguish.
